Shadow Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs Sue Hayman has been Labour Member of Parliament for Workington since May 2015, having previously served as a Cumbria county councillor for Howgate. As a backbench MP, she served on the Justice select committee before being appointed Opposition Whip in September 2015. In October 2016, she became Shadow Minister for Flooding and Coastal Communities, and in February 2017 was promoted to the Shadow Cabinet as Shadow Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs.
