Carbon free emissions. The target of no new petrol or diesel cars by 2030 will only be achievable if manufacturers can overcome problems of range and charging times and the planners overcome charging issues where owners live in flats or park on roads. The solution is simple. We need to develop battery exchange stations rather than charging points. Drivers would simply disconnect and take out their batteries and replace them with ready charged ones. Technical priority by car makers needs to be devoted to developing light weight batteries
