I propose workers rights be improved by requiring that any worker (i.e. UK citizen & legal foreign national residents) who works between 9AM to 2PM to be given legal the right to a 45 minute lunch break as well as a 30 minute tea-break for any worker who works between 3PM & 7PM.
Before anyone states this proposal is outrageous (e.g. expensive & impractical) I suggest they look up the '1950 Shops Act' that was passed by the post-war Attlee government because my proposal is a very mild version of what the post-war government brought into being.
I'd like to also add that this proposal would complement Labour's plans to introduce a '4 day work week/3 day weekend'.
