UK Citizens Abroad Tax

My proposal is that all UK citizens should be liable to UK taxation irrespective of where they live or where their money is earned or unearned. Having UK citizenship and a UK passport should come with responsibilities to help fund the UK state that they are able to get the benefit of (defence, civil service, education, NHS etc).

Any tax due can be offset by any taxes paid in another country so that the maximum tax paid would not exceed what the UK tax charge would be.

Such a tax policy would be popular as being fair and equitable for all citizens and would only affect those who wish to retains the rights of citizenship whist choosing to live abroad out of the reach of the UK tax authorities.
