The 2021 NPF Consultation has now closed, and we would like to say a big thank you to everyone for your involvement.
We wanted to use this consultation as an opportunity to listen to our members, supporters and stakeholders on how the next Labour government can make the UK the best place to grow up, grow old and live in. And we received a fantastic response, through both the submissions received and eight policy roundtables held with members to hear their views.
Consultation activity
Due to the ongoing coronavirus crisis, consultation activity was exclusively held online. All eight consultation documents were published and available to download on Labour Policy Forum. We received a number of great submissions through the website on a vast number of topics including building a more equal society, social care, repairing our economy, high streets and ending violence against women and girls, among many others. Thank you to all who took the time to send in their views.
Member roundtables
Throughout June and early July we held eight member roundtable events, one per consultation topic. Demand for these roundtables was high, with each event attended by at least one member of the Shadow Cabinet so they could directly hear members’ views. Feedback from members was overwhelmingly positive, and it was fantastic to be able to hear from members across the country using this new method of engagement.
What happens next?
All submissions received and notes taken at the eight roundtable events will be fed into the policy making process and sent to each of the eight NPF Policy Commissions for their consideration.
These will inform the 2021 NPF Annual Report which will be taken to Annual Conference in September. If approved by delegates, it will form part of our policy platform.
