Labour has launched its General Election campaign with a major speech from the Labour Leader, Jeremy Corbyn MP.

In his speech Corbyn promised that a Labour government would deliver real change and take aim at a corrupt system in which tax dodgers, bad bosses, big polluters and billionaire-owned media are holding our country back.

The next Labour government will do this by putting rail, mail and water into public ownership so they work for everyone. They will rebuild a health service people can be proud of, a social care system that gives older people dignity with free personal care and a real living wage of at least £10 from the age of 16.

Labour will build secure homes that families can afford to rent and end rough sleeping. They will offer thirty hours’ free childcare for all two to four year olds and no tuition fees. The next Labour government will take real action on the climate crisis too with a Green Industrial Revolution to create hundreds of thousands of new jobs.

Corbyn also outlined Labour’s plans for Brexit. Labour will get Brexit sorted within six months and will let the people decide whether to leave with a sensible deal or remain.

The next Labour government will build a fairer country with a radical and exciting plan. It’s time for real change.

Jeremy Corbyn MP, Leader of the Labour Party, said:

“We will invest in every nation and region, rebuild our public services and give our NHS, schools and police the money they need by taxing those at the top to properly fund services for everyone.

“This election is a once-in-a-generation chance to transform our country, take on the vested interests holding people back and ensure that no community is left behind.”
